Balboa Horizons Treatment Services is a women’s residential center in Newport Beach, California. You’ll recover by the coast with client-centered addiction and mental health treatment. They blend expert-backed therapeutic approaches with experiential therapies to heal your mind, body, and soul.

You’ll benefit from trauma informed and individualized care. They design your care plan to meet your needs holistically, incorporating individual and group sessions drawing from eye movement desensitization and reprocessing and somatic trauma resolution.

One thing that caught my eye about this facility is their experiential therapies. They dive deep into self-expression with art therapy, psychodrama, music therapy, spirituality, and mindfulness. Complementing care with experiential treatment provides a space to find healing in all aspects of your life.

Another great thing about them is their family services. Including family in care is essential to repairing relationships and developing a solid support system. You’ll have access to family therapy and support to help your loved ones learn more about addiction and how to support each other as a family unit.

12-Step

12 step programs such as Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous are support group style programs for individuals who are experiencing alcohol or substance use disorder. At Evoke they use a holistic model of addiction care that includes using 12 step programs. These programs are an integral part of most relapse prevention plans and provide continued support and accountability that support sobriety.

24-Hour Clinical Care

24 hour clinical care provides close medical supervision for individuals in the early stages of recovery. Medical professionals monitor individuals around the clock for complications and provide immediate intervention when needed.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
