About Carrington House – Baltimore
Carrington House was the first program from the Jobs Housing Recovery program in Baltimore, Maryland. It was the heart of their continuum of care for people experiencing addiction and recovery. They offered men the tools and life skills they needed to recover and stay sober while rebuilding their lives.
Your services may have included individual and group counseling along with access to GED classes to complete your high school education and vocational training to make you competitive in the job market. They worked with you on job placement so you earned income to maintain your home. They also provided relapse prevention classes and life skill workshops where you could learn the skills you needed to be in a relationship with others.
After graduating from the program, you left with a network of support and employment. You had the opportunity to develop solutions to any legal issues you might have had, including child support and unpaid taxes. You learned how to improve your work habits and how to take responsibility for the decisions you made about your life. Eligibility requirements included being homeless, challenged with substance abuse, and transitioning from a drug treatment center or detox. Case managers helped you contact the clinical team to schedule an interview so they could determine your eligibility and arrange admission.
