The Cass Health Hospital provides crisis stabilization services for people experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis. The campus is located in Atlantic, Iowa. A crisis stabilization specialist will meet you in the ER or elsewhere in the hospital to help you in your moment of need. Stabilization is the immediate goal, but one of the biggest advantages of this program is an assessment of your condition and needs. This assessment is used to refer you to the appropriate level of care.

Before the crisis stabilization program was launched in Atlantic, clients seen in the ER for mental illness or substance abuse needs could wait up to three weeks before starting a treatment plan. This rapid response has cut that time to mere days, so you can start treatment much sooner following stabilization.
