About Colorado Medication Assisted Recovery (CMAR) – Thornton
Colorado’s Recovery-Oriented, Clinically Driven, Medication Assisted Recovery Program
Colorado Medication Assisted Recovery (CMAR) is an outpatient recovery program, specializing in the treatment of opioid dependence, co-occurring addictions and mental health concerns as well. We integrate structured and comprehensive medical, clinical, and peer-based services. Our medical team is led by Dr. Nathaniel Moore, board certified in addiction medicine, and our clinical team is led by Michael Damioli, LCSW, CSAT. Our services are designed entirely around evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
CMAR is the only program in Colorado with an intensive-outpatient and controlled substance license, and the only program in the state to offer an intensive outpatient program specifically to people suffering from opioid addiction. Length of care is variable and based on medical and clinical progress. CMAR is not a high-volume clinic, but rather a specialty program that maximizes each patients’ potential. Care is individualized and fit around each patients’ schedule.
Treatment begins with comprehensive assessments followed by buprenorphine “induction” for those who need it. Clients then commence an individualized taper schedule off buprenorphine at a pace consistent with clinical progress (this process can be as long or as short as needed). Throughout this process patients participate in individual, group and family counseling, peer support and case management. Community is central at CMAR. We ensure that each patient is connected to their peers and empowered to connect to the broader recovery community.
