Umatilla County Mental Health Human Services is now called Community Counseling Solutions. They’re located in Milton Freewater, Oregon. They provide substance abuse treatment and addiction recovery services as well as behavioral health resources to people in Umatilla County.
They believe addiction is a compulsive and or uncontrollable chronic disease that can make long lasting changes in your brain. They also believe those changes can lead to harmful behavioral patterns and lend themselves to relapses.
Their intensive outpatient and education treatment process looks to promote recovery and prevent relapse. The use a flexible but structured type of approach which does alow you to keep working or stay in school and deal with your family’s needs. Skilled professionals will provide you with group therapy, individual counseling and educational sessions to help you recover and avoid relapses.
They have a unique type of program called Deflection. It’s designed to be an alternative to arresting people who are addicted to drugs or alcohol. If you enter the justice system you likely won’t get help that will address your addiction. The State of Oregon passed a bill that encourages law enforcement to engage in this program too.
MAT is designed to ease withdrawal symptoms by providing the right dose of medication that best helps your recovery process. It involves medication, counseling, education and support from family and friends.
They also provide behavioral health and peer support here. It’s coordinated care for people with substance use disorder who also have mental health issues related to addiction. They use a holistic care model that’s specific to each person’s needs.
There are also peer support and mentoring programs available as well as help with anger management which is a 12 week treatment and education program.
