About Fairview Health Services – Andover
Comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment services are offered by M Health Fairview Clinic in Andover, Minnesota. They provide care for people with both mental health and substance use disorders. Dual licensed therapists can treat both conditions at the same time to help you better understand how these disorders interact. With the help of educational programs and evidence based therapy, you will acquire the skills necessary to control your symptoms and stop using illegal drugs or alcohol.
A group-based approach is key to their dual disorder program that aims to stabilize your symptoms and improve your capacity to manage daily stressors. With a focus on a cooperative team approach, this program brings together medical experts committed to providing you and your family with quality care.
For approximately 6-12 months, you’ll have regular clinic visits to track your progress during the acute stabilization phase. Following stabilization, the program supports your recovery and maintenance by facilitating a seamless transition to continuing care providers either in the clinic or in the larger community.
Additionally, the clinic provides dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which is designed especially for people who have trouble controlling their emotions or who act impulsively in ways that can cause problems in their lives. The knowledgeable staff is prepared to evaluate and care for people who are in serious emotional distress.
This program is available to teenagers and adults, with some services available for clients as young as 13. They require a six-month commitment that consists of two hours of skills group per week in addition to one hour of individual therapy.
Due to the program’s Minnesota Department of Human Services certification, strict adherence to care standards is guaranteed.
