About Gibson Recovery Center – Cape Girardeau
Gibson Center for Behavioral Change is a substance use disorder treatment facility in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They specialize in treating co-occurring disorders and use a multidisciplinary treatment approach. Gibson Center is welcoming of all patients including LGBTQIA+ individuals. The services available at this facility are residential treatment, outpatient care, detoxification and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
An additional service at this facility is the Substance Awareness Traffic Offender Program which helps individuals who’ve been incarcerated for driving while under the influence (DUI). Medical experts on the team will help clients determine which of their services would be best for their needs. The facility accepts most insurance plans for payment.
Clients who need MAT services will be prescribed safe and scientifically proven medications to minimize withdrawal symptoms. The staff will monitor patients around-the-clock to make sure that symptoms are managed and they are protected from any complications.
Gibson Center’s residential treatment is designed to help patients focus on learning new skills, live healthier lifestyles, and regain their emotional and physical well-being. The services that are part of the program are individual and group counseling, relapse prevention and community support. Outpatient care provides the same services while allowing the patient to go home and continue their daily responsibilities.
Staff members will determine a set number of days and hours per week that the client will receive treatment. Counselors will help clients learn various skills that can prevent relapse, such as identifying triggers and developing coping skills. The types of therapeutic approaches used at Gibson Center include moral reconation therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and the Matrix Model.
