Behavioral health services include treatment for mental health conditions and substance use disorders that affect individuals and their families. Services are offered as inpatient or outpatient treatment within the psychiatric unit. The 20 bed unit is available for men and women ages 18 and older.
Your treatment begins with an assessment of your needs, including the type of substances you’re addicted to, the severity of your addiction, and how long you’ve been addicted. Inpatient treatment is short-term if you’re experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis.
They take a patient centered approach to treatment here. The goal is to stabilize you and help you develop coping skills that can be incorporated into an outpatient treatment program once you are strong enough to be discharged home.
You will receive a referral to outpatient programming and may have a medication plan to address your mental health condition or substance use disorder. The inpatient multidisciplinary team includes social workers, case managers, patient care technicians, activity coordinators, and physicians.
At the same location, they offer a psychiatric residency outpatient clinic in partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine. Your outpatient care is provided by residents who have graduated from medical school and are in specialized training in psychiatry. These physicians are actively involved in research and treatment for mental and behavioral illnesses.
Each resident works with a board certified psychiatrist. This residency clinic provides the opportunity to work with a network of board certified psychiatrists within a state-of-the-art clinic that allows real time monitoring of all appointments. Additionally, they offer treatment for co occurring mental health conditions outside of therapy and medication, including electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
They work with insurance providers in Indiana and will verify your insurance coverage before beginning treatment.
