Health Council – Mental Health Department offers outpatient mental health and drug rehab services to adults, adolescents, and children in Oakland, California. Services include case management, school-based programs, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid misuse.
MAT allows those struggling with opioid misuse to take FDA-approved medication to manage cravings and lower the risk of relapse while also receiving evidence-based addiction treatment. MAT services at Health Council – Mental Health Department include dispensing hours and individual and group counseling to allow clients to reach long-term sobriety and stability.
Health Council – Mental Health Department offers separate outpatient mental health programs for youth and adults. Both programs include crisis services, individual and group therapy, case management, and referrals to additional treatment if appropriate. School-based behavioral health services are also available to eligible students at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary.
