About Journey Malibu – Malibu
Journey Malibu is a private luxury drug and alcohol rehab center in Malibu, California. They provide adult detoxification services, inpatient treatment, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and aftercare. Each client participates in the development of their personalized treatment plan.
Journey Malibu provides a safe and relaxing setting to detox. Staff assist with every step of the process, helping clients manage withdrawal symptoms through medication and therapy. As clients complete this phase of treatment, staff prepare them for the next level of care.
Inpatient care occurs in a private residence with luxury amenities and beach access. During their stay, clients follow a structured schedule of recovery activities while staff tends to their needs. Treatment plans can include individual therapy, 12 Step groups, spiritual support, relapse prevention training, co-occurring disorder treatment, career planning and support, and physical and nutritional support. Therapeutic methods include narrative therapy, somatic experiencing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), sober coaching, art therapy, adventure therapy, family therapy, biofeedback, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and yoga therapy.
MAT is the application of FDA-approved drugs (such as methadone) in addiction treatment. MAT is closely monitored by staff to ensure client safety.
Aftercare support helps clients prepare for post treatment life with wraparound services, alumni support, and connections with local resources.
Journey Malibu works with most major insurance plans, including United Behavioral Health, Aetna, Cigna, and Premera BlueCross, among others. Clients are urged to confirm coverage with their plan, as out of network benefits may vary.
