About Lighthouse – Cullman
The Lighthouse of Cullman is a residential addiction treatment facility for men in Cullman, Alabama. Since 1974, they’ve helped men ages 21 and older break free from drugs and alcohol and reclaim their lives. To apply, clients must have completed a 28 day addiction program in the past year, as well as a recent psychosocial assessment. The team expects them to be substance free when they walk in the door. There’s a sliding fee discount to help offset the price.
One unique feature of this facility is that they focus mostly on the 12 step model of recovery, which is popular in Alcoholics Anonymous. The team will provide transportation so clients can attend local meetings offsite. When they’re back on campus, clients will also participate in individual and group counseling services, relapse prevention training, and recreational activities. The environment is cozy and homelike and clients will get three healthy meals a day.
The full program takes 90 days to finish. When clients are ready to graduate, they’ll work closely with their providers to create a custom aftercare plan. Sometimes, the facility will refer clients to other nearby agencies that can offer more support, like Alamaba Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
While some former clients give this facility high marks, one client mentions that they didn’t get the care they expected or needed and had to look for support in another program.
