About M.H.S. Action East – Santee
Located in Santee, California, MHS – ACTION East is a drug and alcohol rehab that treats adults with substance use disorders. The facility also provides valuable community resources, such as referrals, mental health services, and worship.
Addiction-related services at MHS – ACTION East include mental health assessments, intensive outpatient dual diagnosis treatment, counseling, medication management, and peer support.
Mental Health Assessment and Counseling
Assessments allow drug and alcohol counselors to evaluate participants’ mental health and create an appropriate recovery plan. As part of treatment, the individual may receive individual, group, and family counseling, as well as other evidence-based community interventions.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
This program is designed for adults who need formal treatment but don’t require 24-hour care. Using a community-based model of treatment called Assertive Community Treatment, MHS – ACTION East provides support for men and women to overcome addiction. Participants attend individual and group treatment sessions that provide improved coping skills, peer support, and recovery support meetings. Sessions are held 3-4 days per week.
Medication-Assisted Treatment for Addiction
The medication-assisted treatment (MAT) rehab program includes counseling, support groups, and medication management in an outpatient setting. MAT is appropriate for alcohol and opioid addictions. Treatment begins with an assessment, treatment plan, and prescription. Clients attend regular sessions, and, as they progress, in-person office appointments tend to become less frequent.
Peer Support Program
The peer support program is facilitated by individuals who have personal experience with addiction and recovery. Certified by the state, peers can support individuals by helping them make a recovery plan, access services, and achieve their recovery goals.
