The Salem VA Clinic is part of the VA Portland Health Care System. The Salem CBOC is located in Salem, Oregon. They provide mental health, specialty health and primary care services for Veterans and their families. Referrals aren’t required.
Common conditions they help with are addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, schizophrenia, OCD and bipolar disorder. They can also help you with marriage or relationship problems and defeating aggressive and or self harming behavior.
They use counseling and some other support options depending on your needs and they provide same day help for urgent issues. Your care coordinator can work with you to address other conditions. It should be noted you might even qualify for assistance here without being enrolled in VA health care.
This treatment center is open Monday through Friday. If you’re an existing patient, they say it takes an average of 19 days for people with non-urgent issues to be seen after contacting the office for an appointment.
Patients here say referrals are set in motion quickly and easily, the walk-in staff are very nice, there is excellent care and fast service provided. If you feel like stretching your legs and unwinding between sessions, Gilmore Field City Park is within walking distance. Walling Pond is just across the street.
