About Nicasa Frontline Care Center – Round Lake
Nicasa Frontline Care Center is a community-based part time mental health and addiction treatment facility for first responders and their families in Round Lake, Illinois. Round Lake is a small town named after a local glacial lake and provides a serene backdrop for healing.
They’ve created a safe space for those who regularly put themselves between the public and anything that would cause harm. They treat police officers, firefighters, emergency medical service personnel and 911 telecommunicators. On the military side they help retired civil service members, active military, reservists and veterans. Family members of all first responders are welcome to come for treatment too.
You’ll get individual counseling sessions and group therapy. Their treatments are trauma informed to ensure that you feel protected enough to open up. I noticed that they do individual and group debriefing, a vital service for those on the frontlines to process some of the situations you face daily.
One thing that stood out to me is their focus on holistic addiction treatment options. For example, you can get biosound therapy which uses sound and vibrations to help you relax. This can ease withdrawal symptoms including insomnia, agitation and tense muscles. Opioid withdrawal symptoms can be relieved by pulsed electromagnetic field sessions which stimulate the brainwaves linked to contentment. You can also try the infrared sauna to boost the production of endorphins to relieve anxiety and pain. This enhances your feeling of well-being and leaves you feeling calm, safe and energized.
