About Passages Family Support – Spokane
Passages Family Support is a peer run behavioral health facility located in Spokane, Washington. They treat people of all ages for substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. They are an outpatient service, but they do provide short-term emergency residential treatment.
You will work with a case manager to make a treatment plan. They use a person-centered model so you will be in charge of the types of changes you would like to make. You will even have a say in the method of treatment they use.
The people who work at Passages are fully trained and licensed. They try to hire people who have struggled with addiction themselves. You will have group and individual sessions with professionals and trainees, you will also have sessions with a peer counselor.
You do not have to come into the office for therapy when you are treated here. A therapist will come to you wherever you are, whether it is your home or a local coffee shop. They also have school outreach programs in which they talk to at-risk kids about mental health issues.
When treatment is over, you will be assigned a Peer Bridger. This is a volunteer who can help you find housing and 12 Step programs in your community. They will be there to talk to when you are having a crisis or when you need relapse prevention.
They offer regular outings and activities for their clients. Participating in sober activities can retrain you to stop associating fun with using substances.
