About People of Color Network – Phoenix
People of Color Network is a nonprofit behavioral health and substance abuse treatment center in Phoenix, Arizona, just east of Chase Field. The facility was founded to provide culturally-informed care in a professional setting. They serve adult clients.
Clients from minority backgrounds face unique cultural challenges when seeking treatment and during recovery. The People of Color Network staff recognize this and tailor their treatment programs to address these concerns and provide a deeper level of care. Services include outpatient treatment and dual diagnosis treatment.
Outpatient care (a.k.a. day programs) is for clients who are stable and not experiencing severe symptoms. In this program, clients visit the facility on a regular basis to meet with their care team and participate in treatment activities. Outpatient care is typically available on a flexible schedule to better accommodate clients’ availability.
Care is individualized to meet the needs of each client. Featured treatment services include therapy (individual and group), trauma-informed therapy, and experiential therapy. Outpatient programs prepare clients for long-term recovery by educating them on the nature of their diagnosis and teaching them vital coping skills.
When a client is living with substance abuse and any other mental illness, they are said to have a co-occurring disorder (dual diagnosis). Such disorders carry a high risk of relapse, but specialized treatment can reduce this risk by addressing the symptoms of both problems.
The in network and out of network benefits of an insurance plan can vary. Clients are encouraged to confirm their coverage before beginning a treatment plan.
