About Pike County Jail – Pikeville
WestCare – Pike County Detention Center – PCDC is located in Pikeville, Kentucky. They offer separate men’s and women’s jail recovery programs that are designed as intensive, long term alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs for people who are incarcerated. Both programs are six months long and specifically designed for use within the criminal justice system.
Once the programs are completed each person can enter the community residential services program which helps them to integrate back into society. It’s licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as an Alcohol and Other Drug Entity Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program, where they encourage patients to empower themselves and learn ways to become productive members of their community and society.
There are group and individual counseling sessions, drug and alcohol education classes, training for vocational skills, introduction to 12 Step meetings and help with preventing relapse. The intensity of the treatment here varies based on the needs of each person while they start to embrace their recovery. The women’s program has a re-entry coordinator who provides any extra tools needed for each person to be successful in this part of their recovery.
WestCare has another location in Pikeville that’s an Emergency Homeless Shelter. This location provides housing, drug and alcohol abuse services and help in learning how to live independently. They serve adult males, females, and families that reside in Pike County and surrounding counties, who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. You can get help with drug treatment, employment skills, life skills, cognitive skills, financial literacy and adult education.
