About Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare – Mason City
Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare is a CARF accredited, private, nonprofit behavioral health and substance use treatment center in Mason City, Iowa. The center is surrounded by 20 acres of prairie with a walking trail. Their substance use programs include adult residential treatment, intensive outpatient services, and outpatient counseling and therapy services. They also have OWI (Operating While Intoxicated), and weekend jail classes. Most major insurances are accepted at the center. They also have a sliding fee pay schedule if you’re uninsured. No one is turned away due to an inability to pay for services.
The facility offers many mental health treatment programs. These include medication assisted treatment (MAT), trauma therapy services, gambling addiction services and the ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) program for those with persistent and severe mental health issues. They use evidence based practices in all of their programs.
The residential substance use treatment program is a 28 day inpatient program. It includes the MATRIX program, dialectical behavior therapy, family counseling and adventure therapy. They offer optional 12 Step programs. The treatment programs are gender specific. After 21 days, you earn a day pass or two four-hour passes to visit with family or friends off campus.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a full day, and you’ll be participating with the patients in the residential inpatient program. You’ll attend Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can attend on weekends if you need additional support.
There’s also a partial day program if you need some support but you don’t need inpatient treatment or the IOP. This program is three days per week from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The outpatient groups are also gender specific.
One former patient said the experience at the center was life changing and life saving. Another said it was an incredible place with wonderful counselors.
