About Salvation Army Halfway House – Elmira
This facility is an outpatient clinic providing addiction treatment, integrated opioid treatment, and prevention services.
This clinic provides prevention, evaluations, referrals, treatment, and relapse prevention for individuals with substance use disorders. Depending on each person’s needs different treatment tracks are available. Each track includes group and individual therapy, psychoeducation, and peer-to-peer support. The tracks are called: stabilization for individuals on medication-assisted treatment, early recovery, personal recovery skills, and life skills/relapse prevention. Additionally, there is a women-specific track based on trauma-informed care and the Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model. Groups are offered 60 hours per week at varying times.
This program is specifically for individuals with opioid use disorders and offers medication as a treatment option. Methadone is used as a way to help individuals rid their bodies of harmful substances and sustain long-term recovery. Program participants come to the facility every day to receive their dose of Methadone, as well as engage in treatment groups.
