About Stout Street Foundation – Commerce City
Stout Street Foundation offers Serenity, a short term residential treatment program. They’re located in Commerce City, Colorado. Serenity is an intensive treatment program for substance use disorder and co-occurring (dual diagnosis) mental health disorders.
Although Stout Street Foundation offers a long-term program, Serenity is their short program. They don’t accept Medicaid, but they do accept many insurance plans. They offer a guarantee that once you’re approved, even if your insurance benefits are cut off, you’ll get 28 days of care.
The program is run by licensed clinical staff. They offer evidence-based therapies for recovery. During the program, you’ll participate in five individual counseling sessions per week. You’ll also attend group therapy seven days a week, three times per day. You’ll attend 12-step meetings twice a week.
They use a lot of different types of therapy and education in this program. There’s motivational interviewing (MI) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). You’ll also use schema therapy, which is a type of therapy that helps you identify unhelpful thought patterns. Once you’ve identified them, you’ll work on changing them to more positive and balanced thought patterns.
They use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), and solution focused therapy. You’ll spend time exploring and getting in touch with your inner child and work on prosocial behavioral activities. They also offer experiential therapy that uses art, music, and role play to help you process negative emotions.
If appropriate, you’ll have medication-assisted treatment (MAT). They offer acupuncture, meditation, and yoga. Yoga is especially helpful to many people to quiet the mind while exercising the body.
The program is an ASAM-licensed 3.5 level of care. They can step down to 2.5 for insurance providers, but they can’t take clients straight into the 2.5-level program.
