About Tri City Mental Health Center – Pomona

For more than 60 years, Tri-City Mental Health Center has been a trusted source of mental health care for the residents of Pomona, California. With a deep commitment to compassionate and culturally inclusive treatment, Tri-City Mental Health Center provides a wide variety of mental health support services for children, teens and adults.

Tri-City understands that many people who are struggling with mental health conditions also face housing insecurity, substance use disorders and a lack of access to healthcare. That’s why they’re so focused on taking a holistic approach. Tri-City Mental Health Center works to connect their clients to community resources and comprehensive care.

One of Tri-City’s biggest projects is their Mental Health Student Services Act which focuses on serving foster youth, LGBTQ+ youth, or youth who have been suspended or expelled from school.

The MHSSA program provides these youth with access to support and care for substance use disorders and mental health conditions. This program also helps to train the adults in the community how to identify early warning signs of substance abuse challenges in the youth and teen through free community training.

Through the community-wide awareness campaigns they offer, Tri-City encourages open conversations about mental health, substance use and recovery. A big part of what Tri-City does is to help individuals struggling with substance use and their families feel empowered to seek out help without shame or feeling.

Tri-City has a team of therapists, peer support specialists, and counselors who understand the challenges of addiction and how much strength it takes to recover. By offering culturally responsive and accessible treatment options, Tri-City ensures all the people who are involved in their programs have a safe and supportive environment to heal.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
