About Zepf Center – Maumee House – Toledo
The Maumee House of the Zepf Center in Toledo, Ohio provides recovery housing. Maumee House was built in 1985 as an eight person group home. They are focused on promoting abstinence from alcohol and drugs. Men and women who are ages 18 and older will be able to reside at the recovery house.
Their recovery housing has been specifically designed for individuals with substance dependence. It is for individuals who are either in recovery or need a sober environment to overcome addiction.
I do like that they will support you if you have a co-occurring condition or are on methadone. They emphasize strength based approaches, 12-step facilitation and cultural sensitivity. They also offer gender-specific housing to ensure that each resident’s needs are met in a nurturing and respectful environment.
You will have to complete detoxing before being admitted into the house. You will also meet with a case manager weekly to discuss treatment, vocational and legal needs.
You will need to meet other requirements. You will need to attend sober support meetings and complete daily chores. I do like they will keep you accountable as you will need to submit random urine and breathalyzer screens.
I like that they include a variety of services and support. What stood out to me is that they include in-house sobriety support meetings like Heroin Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous.
They also offer a family education class, which is open to all residents and their loved ones. You will have three meals a day, case management support and assistance with finding jobs or continuing education. The facility includes fully furnished rooms, a dining area, a TV lounge and an exercise room.
