About Meridian Psychotherapy – Virginia Beach
Meridian Psychotherapy Services, LLC is a private psychotherapy group in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They treat clients with substance use and/or co occurring mental health disorders. They provide medication management, psychiatric evaluations, outpatient detox with Suboxone and treatment for a range of mental health issues. Care is provided by licensed physicians, psychiatrists, therapists and nurse practitioners. One of the nice things is they accept most insurance plans including TRICARE and Medicare.
One of the unique things about this center is that they offer Spravato (esketamine) for clients with treatment resistant depression. Spravato is a nasal spray administered in the office. Most clients take it for about six months though sometimes longer. You’ll have to remain at the office for two hours after receiving the spray and you can’t drive home after your appointment.
They also offer an outpatient medical detox program for clients with opioid use disorder. This is a four to six week program using Suboxone. You’ll be given tapering doses of the drug until you’re free of opiates. You’ll meet with a therapist and participate in group therapy regularly while in the program. They have a maintenance program for those who need to be on Suboxone for longer periods.
There’s a S.A.F.E. group which is a monthly educational group for family and friends of those with chemical dependency. The group teaches you strategies for dealing with someone in recovery. You don’t have to have a client getting treatment at the practice to attend. The program is on the first Monday of each month via Zoom from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The program is limited to two support individuals per family and only those 15 and older can attend. You must register first and the cost is $25.00 for two people.
If you have a teen in recovery then there’s a teen program for kids ages 14 to 17. This is a hybrid (Zoom and in person) program that runs for 12 weeks. The program is a youth substance abuse outpatient program for females and males where they’ll find guidance and support in maintaining sobriety.
